Has anyone contacted VW or for US owners submit this issue to NHSTA?

I am having this issue and I know for sure, from working on cars for 35yrs this should not be happening.

I prefer to NOT let them touch mine, hasnt come back on after adding a cup of water and ill trade it in if it continues to come back. Cant deal with the hassle of dealing with a Dealership, I buy a new car with the thought it will NEVER go back to the Dealership and that is my intention with this one too

I certainly understand. I would never buy anything else except a Honda/Acura, but my daughter didn't want to listen and we have this. First the back brake issue, now this. I've been reading the post and this may be a recall issue with the engine gasket.
