Suspect the engine coolant is leaking. purchased Taos 2022 high line on 31dec2021(Canada) and I had this 'Engine coolant level low warning light is on dashboard. VW service tech filled up the coolant on July2022. But again on 7sep2022, coolant level low light showed up. next day, drove into service centre and found coolant level is low. Filled up the coolant and I am going to drop off the car at VW service tomorrow for diagnosis. Suspect the engine coolant leakage issue.

Does anyone have this issue? Please share.
14000 KM into my Taos, i am not a happy customer. I got one recall and visited service centre three times. started to worry about reliability.

Nas

getting a coolant low light and filling and then repeating is very concerning for sure. Ours doesn't have that issue and I"ve not heard others on here say that. Its probably a 1 off issue because humans make mistakes. We did get our fuel evap valve replaced this week as that was getting stuck (lots of people seems to have that one), there's no impact to driving the car with the stuck evap value.

all the recalls ours has had have all been software related, I wouldn't put that into the category of being worried about reliability.

all products have 1 off issues, Ford had a new engine that was dying with less than 10k miles this year. bad batch of valves. once you get the low coolant fixed, it should be fine

ok thanks for your reply. service center has requested for overnight diagnosis for my issue as they can't figure out the reason on my last appointment. I am gonna drop off the car next week and lets see how it goes.

Me. No.
If u don't c it on the ground and don't smell it. Could be head gasket.
If u smell it it's heater core

I’m having the same issue. I bought mine in April and this is the second time I have had warning lights. The first time the dealership said it was because the coolant had not gone thru the engine and they filled it saying nothing was wrong with it. Today the warning light shows up and I have to fill it. I travel for work so I’ll close up 24k. Have you figured out what is wrong yet?

Don't drive it at all.
Tow to dealer.
Or... Leave rad cap off C if u can let it idle . Fill to top, watch to c fluid go down, fill to MARK. Put cap on.
Fill. Check overflow tank is at middle.
Now let it sit , running, watch guage.
If it overheats, head gaskets.

How do you get the coolant issue fixed? Our dealership isn't any help.

My dealership could not find a reason why. Checked it said there isn’t a leak, but it was normal for how many miles I’m driving between oil changes. Which I find weird. Most oil changes they would top off the coolant but I go 10,000 miles per change. Said running the AC and idling more will create the coolant to disappear faster. Make sure you buy the VW coolant to have on hand. If you use anything else I got told it would affect my warranty.

We had the same low coolant light come on after 12k miles. Dealer kept car for a few days to idle the car for a few minutes every few hours but found no leak. They said fuel evap valve needed to be replaced after throwing a code during their testing. They filled system back up and said will recheck at next oil change. So far 2500 miles and no light.

I have a 2022 Taos, it’s currently In The shop at my dealer and it has proven to be a blown head gasket. They tried to tell me all the excuses I’ve read above, but pressure tested it and found the leak. Coolant doesn’t just disappear, it’s a sealed, pressurized system and should not lose volume. Short of finding coolant on your driveway, it will likely be the head gasket.

Same here. Im only at 11,000 miles and it low coolant warning comes up every other day. I got it checked, pressure tested at 10k service, they said it happens. Then a month later it showed up again. This time, they said it was too hot outside :cautious: which is why it used a lot..This month I got it filled for 3 times..waiting for the next light by Monday... They definitely don't know what's going on. I owned many VW in the last 20 years, never had this issue happening multiple times in one month.. actually I don't even remember getting this error ever...
