Window Button (Behavior)

Hi anyone has similar experience with this (annoying) behavior, if it's true?

  • Driving, my (driver side) window is somewhat open (down) and I want to close it.
  • Move the button UP as it's supposed to.
  • The window goes DOWN instead!

It happens at least once a day for me, and when I try to immediately reproduce it (thinking it might be me / my finger pushing down initially in that split second, which has a 50% likelihood...), I can never do it again in the moment...

Mine does the exact same thing and I assume it to be from new window rubbers with tight tolerance ? It's weird when you push window up and it goes down isn't it :ROFLMAO: It is getting better and doing it less as I get some more miles and use in it so I think it will work itself out in time. Thanks for the Reset Vid GTI, thats helpful and I'll try it (y)

PS
Ok be honest how many open the back window instead of the front window ? At first I'd say 80% of the time, its still a 50/50 shot which window im opening, LOL. Just seems like the buttons should be a little further back
This does go away after a while and yes at first I was constantly opening rear windows instead of the front ones but you get used to where the buttons are after a while.
Yes, the anti-pinch can be overly sensitive. But as someone who had their hand crushed in the window by their Mom when she was dropping me off for the SAT, I prefer the feature vs not having it.

Mine does the exact same thing
Good to know it's not just me!

I followed that video above, let's see if it gets rid of it for good (2 days in, OK so far).

Same here, the ergonomics just seem off...

Yes! Mine does the exact same thing and it's been getting more frequent! Service tells me that warranty doesn't cover intermittent problems - it has to FAIL!
Doesn't "FAIL" mean that something doesn't work? Because they for sure don't work the way they're supposed to!
Hopefully more people see this and chime in.
Hate to say it, but VWs have been doing this for years.
I did experience this too when I first got my Taos last year, which had surprised me. But it was very quickly and easily resolved by doing the following:

Try resetting the One Touch feature.
1.Roll windows down
2.Roll windows up
3.Pull up on the window switch until you hear it click

Good Info, mine still does it I'll give it a try
Thanks
