We can start off from the base versión and in al lof the trim levels an extremely efficient 1.4L motor with 150-HP, 6 air bags, adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind spot monitoring with rear traffic alert, frontal collision assitance with emergency braking, rear camera, automatic headlight activation with photo sensor and ‘Coming Home’ & ‘Leaving Home’ system, ‘Push-to-Start’ engine start/stop button and tire pressure loss warning light, additional wireless charger for Smartphone and Digital Cockpit, that helps the driver drive safely and comfortably.

In the Comfortline versión, the new Taos comes with 18-inch aluminum wheels with a new design, 10-inch color touchscreen, the recently announced Volkswagen Wire & Wireless App-connect for iOS, which translates into being able to control Smartphone applications from the radio, a multi-function steering wheel in leatherette material, two-tone leatherette covered seats, electrically-operated driver’s seat with lumbar adjustement, rear parking sensors and front door sill protectors with Chrome inserts that give the new Taos a very elegant look.

“We are very enthusiastic that the new Taos will be built by Mexican hands, we have worked hard and with a lot of passion to offer a great product, and at the same time to present our consumers a totally different buying experience, innovation and state of the art, that very soon could live. The A-SUV segment has grown considerably in the last five years, both in Mexico and in the world, so we predict great success for the new Taos”, says Edgar Estrada, general manager of the Volkswagen Brand in Mexico.

Volkswagen's strategy is to position itself as the leading brand in the SUV segment, so the New Taos arrives in the Mexican market at a key moment where innovation, technology and safety complement the progressive thinking of the brand.

For anyone curious, here is the Mexico market website for the Taos. I'm reviewing the site to see if there is anything on the Mexico site that is new or different from the US

Wish VW Car Net is available in Mexico. So far, there is no mention that it is. Taos sold in Mexico will not have 4Motion. It would be a nice to have and it will come in handy in some situations but not really needed over there. US and Canada will have Beats Audio in the top trims. We won't get any upgraded audio in Mexico. Seems to be a Mexican thing. They may not have a demand for better quality sound. Lots of other cars don't like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Tucson, among others.

BTW, the VW Mexico already has a partial configurator for the Taos up and running. It is still in the pre-order stage. The top trim Highline is not yet available in the configuration site.
