mine does not show in recall lookup... purchased in aug. it is only ~2,400 taos included. the recall link posted doesn't say if its AWD/FWD seeing as they have different rear suspension bits in some cases.

Mine was built in September according to the sticker (didn’t purchase until the end of February). I do have all wheel drive and it is possibly affected based on the Vin number

The "not sequential" bit seems to be saying that not every VIN in that range is affected. Perhaps they will all have to be inspected, but only a small number will have the potential defect.

And if I actually read my own posts, it says "Determination of potentially affected vehicles based on production records", so they know which VINs have the problem parts. So I guess you wait for a letter or for your VIN to show up as needing a recall fix on vw.com.

FYI all, I just stopped by my dealer and they said it’s way to early to check the VIN numbers. First VW headquarters puts out the notification to the media which is what they did. They put a notice to the dealers but at this point the dealers don’t know which cars or exactly which parts. They will then notify owners by post cards probably starting later in May or even later. So the dealer said relax.

Before I saw anything about this recall my VW app notified me that my vehicle is apart of this recall/inspection based on the rear knuckle suspension recall. Yes, the issue is not pressing by any means and such a low number of vehicles are actually affected, but they do in fact have the recall tied to production timeline of builds and In turn certain vehicle VINs from that build span. I have already been notified by VW that my vehicle needs to be inspected to see if it has the possibly defective knuckles. With all the technology you don’t have to wait on a recall letter in the mail. It’s in the VW app which is tied to your VIN under the service tab. Again, I was notified through my VW app that my vehicle is under this recall by means of needing to be inspected to see if it possibly has the defective rear suspension knuckles.
