Nice! Do you have a link or info for the rims and the "hubcaps"? Are they from VW? How easy was it to install the hubcaps?
The hubcaps are these which can be found online in several places. It says they fit a Tiguan, but they just snap over the wheel bolts, so they fit any 5x112 VW bolt pattern if you are running steel wheels for winter.

The wheels were from Tire Rack, originally bought for the wife's Beetle. (I have another set on the GTI for winter).

Awesome! thanks very much. I have not even seen those before and it's good to know they will also fit rims from Tire Rack.

So before I order wheels I wanted to do some fitting. Hopefully this will give some insight to some folks that are like me. I like a max width fitment without crazy aggressive pokey offsets and minimum/mildly stretched tires. And if you aren’t like me and you want more aggressive fitment maybe this can help you.

My test fit subject is 19x9.5 et 43 wheel with a 255/40r19 Nexen N5000 Platinum tire. I brought along some spacers but in my opinion for my desired fitment on the front I didn’t need the spacers to accomplish my goal. To match the poke front to rear I estimate I will need 12mm spacer on the back. I’ll sort that out when my new wheels arrive.

Here are some photos for you to see where we are at on the Taos.

Inner wheel to strut clearance is about 5mm

With a straight edge across the tire, we have roughly 3-4mm of poke.

The rear fitment is tucked, and I prefer it to match the front. Again this will be sorted when I order wheels.

Anyhow, hope this helps some people that may be considering a little wider wheel. I like to use willtheyfit.com to get an idea of where I’m gonna be.

A little added info:

I will be adding H&R sport springs in the coming weeks.

I will be running the Nexen 255/40r19 N5000 Platinum tires. Overall diameter is the same as the OE 19” tires. This is the reason I chose this size. I wanted the correct height and I didn’t want a super stretched tire with my setup. Also, they have 55k mile treadlife warranty and 2 year or 2/32 road hazard warranty.

Thinking about buying a set of 225 55 R18 all terrains to replace the stock 225 50 r18s plus B2B spacers to make the wheels sit flush.

Other course of action is stock black wheels, spacers, add B2B lift and stock extensions with appropriate tire.

Thoughts?

I bought the same wheels hoping to get them on without a suspension modification, but I'm reading there will be a rubbing problem...Can you tell me exactly what suspension mod you did?
I need help… lol. I’m stuck between 19x8 and 18x8 inch rims.

What are you hung up on? What’s your deciding factor?

Installed my H&R lowering springs a couple weeks ago. Wheels and tires were put on a couple weeks prior to that.

Wheels are Beyern Damon 19x9.5 et39 in a matte gunmetal/brushed finish. Tires are 255/40r19 Nexen N5000 Platinum. Fitment is perfect IMO. Ride quality is great.

I want a nice ride as well as some side wall for the everyday bump in the road. Was thinking of doing 235/45r18 on a 18x8.

I wanna go 19 but don’t wanna bend or crack a rim on something. Also don’t wanna mess with my speedometer.

Looks great but isn’t the speedometer off?
