Ran my Vin through VW recall site and said no recalls or service campaigns at this time.@Corwin (where are you from?), @striderx88 and @jjsd1 are you all able to provide your VINs or run it through this recall lookup that requires it? Recall / Service Campaign Lookup. Curious to see what Volkswagen Taos recalls are currently listed.
The sales halt seems to only affect the 4motion versionmy car have similar problems, it will shut off while driving multiple times. They replaced my fuel pump at 1400 miles.
I called a dealer in the west coast and seems to have no sales halt there. This just gets fishier and car salesmen like the more I look into itWe just picked 1 up in San Diego. Salesman said he sold 2 this past weekend.
I found this recall notice that covers the ECM (Engine Control Module) SoftwareThree County Volkswagen in Lyndhurst, NJ. Sales guy sent me this, looks a bit fishy to me, was wondering if they sold the car to someone else after taking my deposit and trying to get out of the deal.

You're probably correct. The wife's 2020 Audi Q3 has a recall for the ECM software (which she hasn't got yet) and one of the issues it addresses is the start/stop feature. My guess is something with the horrible engine shutoff feature. I turn that off when I drive, but I could see it turning the car off completely at stop lights due to software bugs the way it does in park. I find that feature dangerous for many reasons, though it does add 2+ mpg in city driving
I bought a Taos on July 12th from the Boise Volkswagen and that day is turned off on me while driving it home. I took it back that night and they kept if for a few days trying to recreate the problem. They were not able to recreate it so I picked it up and it happened on my way home again. I had them tow the car back to the dealership because it was unsafe to drive at that point. They’ve had by car since July 15th and have had engineers fly in to check out the car. I provided videos of the problem and they finally admitted there was a problem with the car. They have no fix as of now. I bought the all wheel drive version, that is the version they said is affected by the issue.About to pickup my Taos from the dealer on Saturday, got a call saying they can’t sell it to me because VW halted all Taos sales due to a recall for a dead car after stop.
Can anyone confirm this?
