I am wanting to know the same thing, did you ever find anything that works for you? What did scanner did you guys use for the EPB? I updated my Foxwell scanner Nt510 by adding V-A-G but the scanner is unable to communicate so it won't release the parking brakes.

From what I understand, first is soft pads, second is the lane assist (not all of them have this) which uses the rear brakes to help keep the car in line. We got 34000 miles out of our first set of rear pads but our S does not have the lane assist. So what is the actual cause of the rear brakes to wear out so quick?
VW should cover this under warranty!Hi everyone. I'm having the same rear break issue with my taos. I've had my toas for about 16 months and at about 25,000 miles. The dealership told me that my rear breaks were gone and that I should get it towed home. I was shocked to hear that. This car breaks has wore down faster than my older car which is 11 years old and has not needed breaks yet. I also received the letter from VW but the dealership would not honor it and told me to contact VW USA. I've got two quotes for replacement which are quoted around $909 to $1015. Do anyone know a direct contact for VW or know somewhere to get the breaks cheaper?
One would hope although I thought their warranty stopped at 24000 miles.VW should cover this under warranty!
Plead you case with your dealer. One would hope although I thought their warranty stopped at 24000 miles.
