Needing some luck guys, I dropped off my Taos this morning at the dealer for a remote start install (part of the deal at time of purchase). Well just my luck they wanted to keep it for another day. I’m now in a courtesy vehicle, hoping they can figure it all out.

It’s done got the extended range remote and all. Unfortunately the tech left black fingerprints all over my pillar, how do you not wash or wear gloves when touching a light colored headliner color?

Thank you.. I got mine installed free of charge and use my original key Lock > Unlock > Lock only flaw about it your hazard lights blick every second and the car won’t start to heat winter time or ac summer time.

What trim do you have? I have the S and got them to install it as part of the deal before purchase.

Did you get the VW remote start or an aftermarket one? I was told I had to had the extended key fob for it. Also does you carnet app show the option to remote start?

No as I said earlier I didn’t get a extra key.. my original key was programmed to work but it’s Volkswagen parts just not a extra key and it does not show on carnet app

Lucky ducks! I just purchased a 2022 Taos Comfortline in Canada last week (I believe its the SE lines in the states) and I was told the SUV is "remote start prepared" but it's not available yet in Canada. Bummer. I've been told to keep checking back every 6 months.

No if you hit the wrench or i button (I don’t remember which one I hit) in the car it will call carnet through the vehicle. I explained that I had the remote start installed by the dealer and needed the app updated to show I could remote start my Taos. They put me on a 30sec hold said the order was submitted and a day later it showed up in my app.

Thanks I’m gonna have to go back to the dealership because I am not happy with this half ass remote start which does not show on the carnet app and the hazard lights keep blinking while the car is heating up.

Hello, so you ended up with the remote start working directly from your new key fob, without any other key fob need? Do you mind giving us the detail about the process? What do you have to install to make it work? I have a S model and I want the factory solution to remote start the car. But I'm afraid to have to keep two key fobs with me all the time.

This is the Extended Remote Start that just recently ( February ) came out for Volkswagen Taos.. Its a new key that’s programmed to work like your regular key but it’s got a new button 2x. The whole thing will run you about $500.00+ after installation labor unless Volkswagen is nice enough to install it for free.
