I just bought a Volkswagen Taos Highline that brings an induction cradle to charge my iPhone. OK, I place the iPhone there and the car screen shows a message asking if I want to charge and with the yes, it starts charging.
The problem I am facing is that after a certain time, that can be long or short, the screen shows another message: charge suspended and charging stops.
Sometimes if I remove the iPhone, wait few seconds and place over the charger again it resumes charging, but sometimes not.
Volkswagen dealer said this is caused by the iPhone, but today speaking with Apple support the iPhone was diagnosed and is perfect, what didn't surprise me as I don't thing the problem is with the iPhone
Would anybody has some experience with this? How it was solved?
Thanks Paulo

Hello buddy... Are you using any kind of case? I already had problems bc of that. A thicker case delay the charging time and overheat the car charger, so it stops.

Similar problem here.
If I start the car with my iPhone 8 over charger, It usually works. But if you take it out and replace it, it fail to charge. When starting the car with anything over charger, message charger suspended appears.
I went to vw, and they are going to have charger replaced.
Lets see what happens…

It should be noted that if you're using wireless android auto or apple carplay, the induction charger will not produce enough wattage to charge your phone.

These are 10W maximum induction chargers, and if they get too hot they will suspend charging.
Sorry for the late reply, Jake.
Very interesting this information. I really use Apple CarPlay most of the time.
Is there a possibility to change the cradle for a more powerful one?

That's weird when i place my iPhone there it just starts charging, AMOF I get a message saying iPhone Charging (or something like that).
It doesn't ask if I want to charge and I don't have to tell it yes ? I also have Car Play and never have any issues with it charging, not charging, or it stops charging ?
Because of my case once in a blue moon I have to lift it and put it back down for charging to start and If I leave it there for hours on a long trip I do find the phone gets a little hot but nothing crazy.

Note that mexican made Taos may have a different screen software than Argentinian made ones.
Dont know for sure.
