10 second hard reset won't clear any settings or menu options. It's simply a rebootWife came home today and said the clock was showing military time and not 12 hr. When looking under the time & date menu, there is no sub-menu for 12 or 24 hr, selection. Clock was set on Manual, Time zone was -12 GMT, daylight savings is On, date is correct. When setting the time manually, there is also no selection for AM or PM. If i change to GPS, it throws off the time even more. I am in the eastern time zone, US.
Any ideas short of a hard reset? (hold power down for 10 secs.) Does this require all features, as well as Car-Net to have to be re-done?
Thanks Fernanernie. Should the car be running with the radio on?10 second hard reset won't clear any settings or menu options. It's simply a reboot
The ignition has to be on, but the car does not have to be running. Thanks Fernanernie. Should the car be running with the radio on?
Thanks again. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick. It's just another minor issue to add to my upcoming service appointment. The ignition has to be on, but the car does not have to be running.
Just press the power button and hold it down for more than 10 seconds....depending on other features of car (road sign detection, etc...) you may get a couple chimes on your dashboard. That's when you can let go
The GPS time setting still needs the time zone set correctly to adjust for your location, so your time zone for Eastern should be set to -6 GMT. Not sure about the 24hr time display though. In the owners manual it talks about accessing the service menu on page 24, but I can't figure out how to get to it. It claims the clock settings may be available there too. I'm still figuring out the whole digital cockpit thing... there's a reason I still listen to records with a vacuum tube amp! Thanks CRVWYou'd think that being a 71 yr old, that my knowledge of time would be present in my old brain but apparently not. It was set at -12 GMT & Manual when purchased, so i never paid much attention to it until the wife brought it to my attention. It reverts ever so often to 24hr military time and there is no setting on my screen under the Date & Time Menu, to change it back to 12hr. I'll give the GPS and -6 GMT a shot and see if it will maintain the correct time. Thanks again.
Nope, everything set to US. It's definitely military time (ie, 24hr). One thing that appears to be missing in the date & time menu, is "Time Format" as i have seen on a youtube video of the MIB 3 system on a 2021 Tiguan. If that's the case, then dealer service should be able to get it back with a reflash i would assume. Is it military time or just EU time? Is there somewhere else where you have the system set to EU setting and not US setting? Not sure where that would be. But the EU setting would not show you an AM/PM option.
Military time is no big deal to me, as i was accustomed to it for many years in the military but the wife drives it more than i do, so gotta keep her happy. The time was correct when i bought the Taos and i remember there being a menu to change to 12hr or 24hr but as you, i have no idea where it is at but assume it should be under the "Date & Time" menu with a sub-menu of "Time Format".Odd, I prefer 24 hour time, and set mine to that.... Because of this thread, I went back and looked and can't find where the setting is!
Odd, since google has Eastern at -5 GMT. North Carolina follows daylight savings time so i'm wondering if the radio will automatically change in November. Daylight Savings Time is checked in the time menu. Still shows military time though. For the life of me, i can't find where the setting actually is.The GPS time setting still needs the time zone set correctly to adjust for your location, so your time zone for Eastern should be set to -6 GMT. Yep, factory reset had no effect on it.Have any of you tried factory reset?
Actually i think the factory reset may have caused the clock issue. I did the reset when i was having problems with trying to get WiFi activated on it. I never would have done it but was instructed to do so by Car Net.Yep, factory reset had no effect on it.
Eastern is currently 5 hours behind GMT because Eastern is on daylight saving time (+1 hour). GMT never changes - it's always GMT. If you Google again after Nov 7 it should say -6 GMT.Odd, since google has Eastern at -5 GMT.
