I got the prompt to update the infotainment software to version 813 back on the March 6th, and that update was successful. Today I received an alert in the Car.Net app that there was another update available. In the car it showed this update 1292, and it was only 136MB size. Once it downloaded and I shutdown the vehicle, I got the prompt to install, and it is doing so now as I type this post. The VW website still shows the same 91DC service campaign that was there before the last update.

Anyone else get this one? I wonder what fixes are in it. Seems odd that the numbering convention went from 805 > 809 > 813 then jumped all the way to 1292 ?

I just went back to the car and it appears the update completed, but the version under system information still shows 813. Since the size of this one was much smaller than the 813 update, I'm thinking this was just some small patch or an update to a very specific module and not a full update. Also, I haven't gotten another notification in the app that the update completed - unlike last time.

All I know is with this update I did 2 days ago, my iPhone won’t automatically connect to CarPlay. The screen that appears is an acknowledgment screen and then I have to manually press my phone which is the only one listed. Prior, it would just connect automatically.

When I went to start the Taos again this afternoon, it prompted me about the update again , so apparently the first attempt earlier today was unsuccessful, but this time it completed and at the end it showed it was an OCU update…whatever that means.

I had to take mine to dealer where they did something to enable it to receive OTA updates.
Yeah, probably pull fuse F16 for 5 minutes. It resets the telecom/modem unit. I've done it a few times to get Car-Net to work for a few days, then it drops out. Also, for reference, our cars take the mini-fuse style fuse, NOT the low profile mini-fuse. I now have a "spare" one sliding around under the panel somewhere.

Honestly, I really should just take it to the dealer and have them troubleshoot it, as I suspect it's a faulty modem unit.

I have had ongoing issues since that update - about every other day Car play just dies and The entire infotainment panel goes to the clock. I have found holding the dial down for 15 secs and swearing fixes it. I also had car play die while giving me active directions, which was quite fun. Should I just take it to dealer for them to reinstall the update? When it installed OTA it said it was successful.
