Is it possible to just upgrade by just swopping out better speakers than the ones that came with the low end sound system? Is there any room for improvement? In other words will the stock head unit(old school) drive a higher watt etc. speaker and make a difference. Or what is the cheapest way to get a louder volume and quality?

www.cruthfield.com is where I plan on going, I presume the head units with the SE and SEL are the same, just need the amp, subwoofer and better door and front pillar tweeters.

Also some added sound deadening material while you have the doors apart. There's always room for improvement there.
I've had good experience with Noico and it's cheaper than Dynomat.
