I may be missing a trick here - but I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by being asked whether I want to use 'iPhone' or 'Apple CarPlay' as the Technology of choice - every time I start the car .... (bluetooth connection, phone on charging pad (2022 Taos SE FWD).

Does it - or should it not default to the last 'technology' that was used unless instructed otherwise?

Is there a way to set one or the other as a default so that it goes straight to that interface every time?

The only kind of success I've had is shutting the car off whilst Apple CarPlay was still running - then - sometimes - when the car is started again it will open up straight into Apple CarPlay.

I've also tried a soft reboot (Press and Hold volume button until 'VW' appears etc) but to no avail.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hey Hey!
I see similar behaviour with my Android/Wireless Android Auto. From time to time the entertainment unit will ask if I want to use Android Auto or Mirrorlink. If I do nothing, it will eventually (~30s maximum) default to Android Auto.

Does yours not eventually figure it out after a bit?

In fairness I think it does - hitherto I haven't had the patience to wait but today I did - and sure enough - eventually it did open up in Apple CarPlay. Hoping the more often that happens the shorter the gap is before it opens up.
