The sound happens after about 10 minutes of driving and it sounds like it's coming from the windshield. It only happens once a day but it's still concerning as it sounds like a rock is hitting the windshield.
Omg that sucks! Clearly it's a problem if we're all having the same issue.I took my Taos in yesterday to get the popping sound looked at. The service department said they couldn't find anything wrong so this was a wasted trip. I will reschedule with another dealership.
Were they able to tell you why this is happening?Same here. It’s very loud and startles everyone in the car. It sounds exactly like a large rock had hit the windshield on the passenger side. I’m only 500 miles in on this Taos SEL 4 motion and this noise has happened many times. I have a service appointment scheduled for 1/10/22, but trying to get in sooner. I worry that they won’t be able to replicate at the appointment. Has anyone figured out what this is? I’m in upstate NY
I agree, but what do I know? I’m clearly insane for being able to hear the popping sound in the first place.Omg that sucks! Clearly it's a problem if we're all having the same issue.

i have the same problem on my new taosIt seems to happen when the temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and not so much on warmer days.
Any updates from customer care? I just got my Taos last week. I’m in Canada regularly -20 Celsius. Having this same noise. Taking it in to the dealer tomorrow…Looks like it’s very common. My car is in the dealer for this exact reason and customer care from corporate has been calling to give updates. When I find out the resolution I’ll be sure to pass it on
