Hi everyone, I had a question regarding playing media. In the owner manual, it says that you can play videos on the infotainment screen from your device while the car is in park, but so far I have not been able to figure out how. Specifically, I would like to know if anyone has figured out how to play youtube videos from your phone on the Taos infotainment system? Like why doesn't apple car play have a youtube app?

I see on the OBDeleven app that one application is a mod that allows videos to play for passengers even when the car is in motion, but states the car needs to play videos in park to work. I want to get an OBDeleven to enable this, but I don't want to pay all that money just to not be able to get it to work. Anyone have a solution?

(If it matters, my Taos is a 2022 SE)

Thanks!

Why is there no app? Because it's illegal. Federal regulations will absolutely prohibit being able to display video while in motion. Why would they make an edge-case app for use while parked only? Doesn't make sense. Tesla was going to be sued because of this exact reason until they dropped the feature.

Because they do and have? My first gen Tiguans could do that.

How does Tesla get away with it?

That's not correct. It needs to be angled at a certain degree to be allowed. Its how Jeep is getting away with putting a screen in the dash for the passenger seat. Tesla wasnt allowed since their main screen is directed to the driver.

To my understanding it would require a jailbroken iPhone in my case to play YouTube or Netflix. If it cuts you off while in motion regardless, I can’t comment on that yet. I’m planning on using an old iPhone for this purpose alone.
