So I haven't seen release option a vehicle that doesn't have a trunk open/release button from the inside. I don't have a trunk that is auto or anything, but can't find an option to open the trunk with the key in the car. I had to get out when getting a delivery to my car. Anyone know a better way to open the trunk from inside the vehicle while it is running or am I just missing a button? Thanks in advance for your help!

Without a motorized unit SUVs tend to not have this option due to safety reasons. Wife was just asking same thing about our Tiguan, as our previous had a motorized lift and new one does not, so lacks the button. My Jetta with a trunk has a spring loaded release and interior button. .

I think I was on that same path since the key has a button for the trunk that does nothing. I think alot of the parts are shared with other cars like the arteon which would have a spring loaded trunk.
The button for the trunk will unlock the hatch only, not the doors, and when you close the hatch again the vehicle is locked. Somewhat useful, at least I use it a fair bit. VWs with a manual hatch have worked this way for a long time.

You can also just open the hatch by hand with your key in your pocket, but I guess without keyless entry you need the button on the remote.
