How is the app not communicating correctly with a vehicle?
I can see where my car is located in the app which is a nice to have. I probably wouldn’t remote start my car but it works. App sends a notification if the car is unlocked, which is also a nice to have.
I think the communications could be better.

As for hotspot speed over Verizon, mine was okay when I tried the trial. It was basically LTE speed when I did a speed test while connected to the hotspot.

What I did notice was the car antenna has no better signal gain than my iphone. You’d think the car cellular radio would have more transmission power to connect to the closest cell tower, especially since the car antenna is on the outside of the car. With better signal there would be better speed than my iPhone if it were stuck at 1 bar. That was surprising and very disappointing and really the main reason I decided not to pay for the hotspot.

Wow, never seen that before. What cell carrier is the car using? And how’s the signal in the area for that? Is the carnet light on the ceiling green? Could indicate a connection issue if not.

The fact that your hotspot is slow is also weird if cellular is generally good there.

Suggest you take it to your dealer and see if they can do a hard reset of the carnet module. If that doesn’t do they trick it may have a faulty component so needs to be replaced. But certainly that is not normal behavior.

T-Mobile.
Purposely set my cellphone to LTE instead of 5G, ran a speed test while sitting in the car, outside, no trees or buildings nearby. 130Mb/16Mb.
Light is green.

I'll pull the appropriate fuses and let the car sit for a half hour, then try again. If that doesn't work, then I'll have the dealer look at it. I've got to take it in for the Start/Stop flash anyways. It's not that huge of an issue, as I can just have a WiFi hotspot with my phone, and I can use the keyfob for remote start at home

I’m having the same problem as Fernanernie. Car Net stopped working last month. I made sure the app was updated, and I even deleted the app and reloaded on my phone. Nothing would work.

I called Car Net, and I was instructed to press the “I” button in the car to connect to them directly and have them troubleshoot the problem. I spoke to someone and she said they would have to reset something. They said they would put in a work order and it would take 5-7 days.

I never heard back from them, but happened to notice that it was working again early this week. However, it only worked for a day or two and now it’s not working again! Pretty frustrating considering we got our first snowfall last night and I couldn’t remote start my car from inside my workplace.
