Just back from journeys and noted my Start/Stop no longer works. Says it available. Light off on the console. A in dash cluster. No defrost on. Seat belt, etc.

Anyone else after this ECU update?

Conditions for the Start/Stop to function:

The driver must be wearing their seat belt.
The driver door must be closed.
The engine hood must be closed.
The engine must have reached minimum operating temperature.
For vehicles with Climatronic: the temperature inside the vehicle must be within the pre-set temperature range and the humidity must not be too high.
The windshield defrost function must not be switched on.
The vehicle battery must be sufficiently charged.
The vehicle battery temperature must not be too low or too high. (What is the outside temperature in your area right now?)
The vehicle must not be on a steep incline.
The vehicle must not be in reverse gear.
The vehicle must not be in off-road mode.

Thanks, but as I said in shorthand, all conditions met. Period. Worked before ECU update.
and the ambient temperature in your area isn't drastically different than when you saw it working before? Also, I wonder if they did this with the car running or with just the ignition/accessory power on. If it was the latter and the car was using the battery for 30 mins while the ECU was flashed, the battery voltage could've been a little lower than normal until you had driven it awhile. If it still doesn't work after driving for another day or two, then I would worry.

Not dramatically. With a few degrees, but I am sure it worked in similar.

I'll check the voltage wirth Carista and see. That IS possible. But it does work for JSEVW. So maybe temperature.

I'll know more tomorrow.

I did my 24IR software update on Dec 7 and I can confirm the car drives better. It's not a recall, just an update. VW would never acknowledge how bad it was with a worldwide campaign (recall), but have quietly made the fix available. You'd need access to ELSA to run your vin# (VW Service Advisor does this). There is an ecu and transmission software update as well, along with the 24IR.
Anyone on here that works for a dealer that can confirm? Just scheduled my 10k service and requested the 24IR update and they said nothing is available for my 22 SEL with that number. Is there something else I need to ask for to get them to do it? I'm really frustrated with the drive ability and want to keep this car.

Did they run your VIN? My dealer in MA ran mine and noted the 24IR was available, but did not say anything about general update until VIN checked.

I'd ask for the service manager. Then point them to this thread if not. And last resort find a new dealer.

Brought my 22 SEL Jetta in today for reg 10k maintenance and to check on why my CEL light was on. It came on around the beginning of Nov and then shut off so I had ignored it then, but came back on about a week ago. Long story short, I needed 24IR update. Seems to have improved the drivability. I too suffered from the jerky starts in low gear but haven’t noticed them since the update. Auto start seems to be working consistently as well which was an issue before

Checked w/ the dealer that I bought the Taos from and another in Las Vegas, NV (since we will be going there early Jan) and both confirmed that my SE FWD (8spd) isn't eligible for the update as of now but said that more VINs are being added so check back in 30 days.

I asked earlier in this thread if it was just the AWD w/ 7spd that were getting this done, anyone w/ FWD and 8spd that's had their Taos eligible for this?
TIA

I checked with a different dealer yesterday too. Same thing - not available for my VIN (AWD) but could show up as they roll it out in stages.
As far as I can tell, it's all 2022 with the 1.5T engine (including the Jetta).

I did the update to my Taos today during the 10k service. Software update 24IR , and the engine/trans software update as well. The Taos drives immensely better. Like it should have from the beginning. Almost like waking up from a bad dream to realize how good it really is.
I wonder if my dealership installed the update to my car at the 10k oil change without telling me because it does seem to drive smoother on acceleration from a light.
