The dealer salesman said the 2 tone black series is rare right now . He flipped when he saw it . Didn’t know the car was there . He said he knew of them but never ever saw one until he saw the one there I bought. Just got off the truck yesterday morning .

There are only 15-20 or so nationwide. Mine was even rarer than that (white/black roof) because it came in SEL version. Had VW dealer check the inventory and there was only one more like that in the country. Congrats, two tone Taos looks awesome!

Wow , I didn’t they were that rare ! Now I feel super lucky I held out getting the payment I want for 2 weeks . They also sold the red and black rim color I wanted . If that never happened I wouldn’t even know this car was on the lot .

Hey since I’m new to Taos , quick help . Is there a way to set up the doors automatically lock when I leave the car ? My other cars did that , right now I’m relying on the mobile app to tell me I forgot to lock the doors . Also , can you set it up where I can unlock the door on the passenger side by just hitting the button ? Only can unlock on the driver side . Thanks guys ! Love my ride !

Congrats on your new Taos, love the 2-tone color!

From what I know, theres no way to auto-lock the doors when you walk away, I know newer Hondas and other makes do that, but not our Taos. And yes I'm sure you can unlock the passenger door by pressing the button on the door handle. It should be in settings in the MMI. I think you have to set it to "unlock all doors" for it to work.

Next question is I want to use VW car net Plus Premium subscription to try it out and it’s 4 dollars a month . However it says you need a data plan but not sure it means I have to purchase a data plan for the car or can I use phone data to run it ?

Mine came with 5 years for free when I bought it, but not sure how that works, I don’t pay for any data plans or anything.

I know the auto-locking doors is a feature you can access with the Carista OBD2 scanner

Yes ! I have it programmed with Carista and it works and it’s awesome ! Also I programmed Auto High beams to be active when I start the car which annoyed me to have to turn it on every time I needed it . It was always active like with my Trailblazer before this car and I’m glad I’m not losing this feature !
