I’m having issues locking my lift gate on my 22 Taos. I tried using the key fob and it locks all the doors, but not the back end. Is this a random issue or am I doing something wrong?

Dumb question... do you have the fob when you test if it's locked?

My son got into the back end and I was probably 15 feet away. I had locked the vehicle prior. Then I wondered if it had to do with the other set of keys were inside or I was too close? This is the first suv I have ever had. Does the fob automatically unlock the end if you are close by?

if the fob is nearby and you press the gate button, it will open. I'm not sure how far you need to be. there isn't a lever like with the doors tha tyou pull and it won't open, its only a button that releases or doesn't release the gate.

I've forgotten the fob and tried to open the gate and it won't. acts as if locked.
