I'm officially in the club now.

We picked up our 2023 SE FWD today and I drove it home. No surprises and although I was prepared for some hesitation / lag starting out from a stop, it wasn't bad at all. Maybe because I was expecting it but it wasn't nearly as bad as I have read about.

Tested ACC and travel assist in some slowish freeway traffic, they worked very well. Didn't try too many other features other than using Android auto to put Google maps on the infotainment display.

Seems like a great car, I got 30 mpg on the trip, which included slow / stop-and-go freeway traffic for about half the time.

The only picture I have is it sitting in the garage for now, dealer will probably send a better picture of us taking delivery tomorrow.

The only thing I didn't like so much was the seats, they were comfortable but I was used to our Passat with the leatherette seats, which are very easy to slide around on when I want to change position slightly. With the Taos SE seats (Cloud tex), once you sit down it is like you are glued in place.

I'll experiment with that. So far I have been fine with driving it in D.

Edit: After driving some more in D, I don't have any complaints. I just take it easy on the gas pedal when starting out from a stop (i.e. don't floor it) and it seems fine now.
