Issue With Google Maps and CarPlay

Hi all. I recently leased a Taos. Starting with my first drive home from the dealership, Google Maps will sometimes freeze my position or think I’m in a different location (nearby but still inaccurate). This doesn’t happen every time, but enough that it’s an issue. This never happened in my prior car, so I think this is a Taos issue rather than a phone issue.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues and, if so, does anyone have a fix? Thanks.

This just started happening to me out of the blue—it always seems to think I'm right at home no matter where I am and have to drive a few blocks for it to update.

I'm assuming CarPlay takes the car's GPS coordinates (iirc for wireless CarPlay it's part of the spec) as my phone is correct until CarPlay activates.
you might need a replacement module of some sort. mine had all kinds of issues and needed 2. you could also ask the dealership to update the software (you can't do this on your own). beware, the modules are in short supply so your car will sit and sit and sit.

Based on what I have been reading, this issue has to do with the latest Apple software update 15.2.
Has anyone been able to sort this out?
I have the same problem

Seriously??
I have also seen this in my X's brand new jeep recently. It doesnt keep up with your traveling and it's close but not correct, so maybe it is a iPhone issue. Every since Steve Jobs died they have gone to ch!t, recently I had to replace my phone because of a stupid software update. After the update everything worked perfect except all pics you took were blurry, i checked online and saw thousands had the same issue but apple offered no fix, had to upgrade to a new phone so i could take pics again

As for the Taos, last weekend i was using google maps in the taos and twice over the weekend it worked fine BUT then shut off like two blocks before I got to the destination. I had to pull over and restart it and finish the trip ?

Did you ever think it was a Google issue on the iPhone? The way things work is when an IOS update comes out especially if it’s a major update, the tweak manufacturers need to update their software. I know that’s always the way it worked on the Mac OS. As a Designer since the early days every time their was an update on the Mac we had to wait for Adobe to make an update.
I'll check into that Karen and see if there's any google updates available, Thanks. As said it worked perfect and correct the whole way there, the more I think about it the more I realize in both those cases when it shut off it was exactly as I passed the blocks i was suppose to turn on. So maybe what it does is instead of stay on like a Nav System does and tell you to make a u turn, instead it shuts off if you pass the last spot where you were suppose to turn ??? I'll have to check it again but right now I have Covid and it's kicking my butt and im stuck indoors a while @$%(@$^%(@$^%@$

Oh Rob, I am so, so sorry that you have Covid. That’s horrible. Did your doctor give you anything for it? I hope you feel better soon. Also far as that app, it’s really strange what it’s doing. Very odd. I’ve always stayed with Apple Maps. My brother uses Waze and is very happy with that app and swears by it.
