Hi,
Is anyone else experiencing their iPhone overheating after sitting on the wireless charging pad for too long?

I have an iPhone XS and after about 30mins on the wireless charging pad my phone disconnected from Apple CarPlay. I picked up the phone and it was super hot and unresponsive (couldn’t go to Home Screen).

Also noticing the wireless charging is very slow.

Anyone else experiencing these issues and have any fixes?

Wireless Carplay makes phones hot. Add in charging and maybe a streaming music app plus map I could see that happening.

I have not noticed my iPhone getting too warm but the charging rate is ridiculously slow.

I kinda gave up on the wireless charging setup and just plug in a cable. I keep my sunglasses and reading in there anyway, so it’s hard to get the phone in there just right and not have to take the glasses out. I prefer wired carplay anyway. Seems to respond faster.

My android phone has this issue. It seems to happen more in the afternoon when the car has been in the sun all day

The cubby may get too hot. Some car manufacturers have the pad more exposed.

Stick to wired. It charges faster is more responsive and doesn’t feel like your phone will melt!

Worse than that is the issue with my IPhone 12 max that does not charge at the wireless charger!

Possibly a defective charging pad or a setting somewhere on the iPhone 12 that causes this? IDK but my wife's Iphone 12 charges fine.

My phone gets really hot. I bought some short USBC cables for it and as others have said, it'll probably be more responsive and charge quicker.
