So I'm looking at getting a small, simple under seat subwoofer for my Taos SE. I'm probably going to go with the JBL Bass Pro Nano (https://tinyurl.com/5d4uby9r). I have zero interest in rattling windows or bothering my neighbors, I just want to fill out the missing low end in the factory stereo. The sub has both low level and high level inputs. I figure I could use the high level inputs and tap into the speaker wires as they run back to the speakers so I don't have to tear the dash apart. I've been searching trying to find some sort of wiring diagram that has information on which color/where the wires are that I need to get into, but no luck.

Has anyone attempted this that can offer some direction?

I posted something a month or two ago on doing exactly this and where to tap in to the rear speaker outputs in the door sill if you don't feel like back feeding from the radio or the door speaker itself.

It is trivial to run a wire into the engine compartment for power and I will assume your sub senses speaker outputs for auto-on.

Towards the bottom, I make no guarantee that your wire colors are the same but they should be.

The sub does auto power on when it senses signal from the high level inputs. Are you saying I wouldn't need to run a power cable through the firewall into the engine? Is there another power source I could use in the cabin? Thanks for posting your write up, I must have missed the part about the speaker wiring on my initial search.
