Is the heated steering wheel turned on with remote start operation like the heated seats and defroster? Tried the remote start but steering wheel was cold. TIA

I used the remote start and heated steering wheel for first time yesterday. I only ran the car for literally 2 minutes before going out. My wheel was still cold. While driving I turned on the heated wheel. It took a long time heat up. Sorry I’m not givIng you an answer. You’ll probably determine the answer the same time I do!

Idk if you're still wondering, but I used remote start for the first time since it started getting colder outside the other day. It did turn on the steering wheel heater at the highest setting and the heated seats at the second setting.

FYI I had a heated steering wheel on a prior VW that I owned, and it took about 3 to 5 minutes to notice the heat coming through, and about 8 to 10 minutes before it reached full temperature.

I too was looking for the clarification on this one as it does not seem to be indicated anywhere in the owner's manual.
We've remote started wife's recently acquired 2023 SE FWD and it does activate both driver and front passenger seats to the 2nd highest setting, but steering wheel heater does not turn on.

There is only one setting for steering wheel heat unless I have missed something. Three for seats, yes, but one for steering wheel.

2023 SE FWD has three settings for steering wheel heat.

It's on the right side of steering wheel.

Different than mine. Mine is on top. ANd chrome buttons. And only has on or off. But will play with it in the morning to see if somehow I miossed that.

But, you are right on levels. From the 158 horsepower's mouth:

Heating levels for the steering wheel heating

When you switch on the steering wheel heating, the current heating level is constantly displayed in the instrument cluster as a bar display. At the highest heating level, all three bars are filled.
Switching steering wheel heating on and off via the multi-function steering wheel

To switch on steering wheel heating at the highest heating level, press .

To adjust the heating level, press repeatedly.

To switch off steering wheel heating, press repeatedly until the bar display in the instrument cluster display goes out.

Saving the heating level

Switch on the steering wheel heating and set the desired heating level.

To save the current heating level, press and hold for approximately one second.

The heating level is saved and the steering wheel heating is switched off.

To switch the steering wheel heating back on at the most recently saved heating level, press and hold for approximately one second.
