Golf bags in cargo area

Although I like the Tiguan, I don’t think I need that big of a vehicle. So I’ve started looking at the Taos, which I really like. The rear seat space in the Taos appears to be very similar in size to the rear seat space in the Tiguan. The Taos just has a smaller cargo area than the Tiguan. My concern is that the Taos’ cargo area isn’t big enough to store a golf bag (or multiple golf bags stacked on top of each other) without needing to fold down the rear seats. Are there any Taos owners who are also golfers and can tell me what to expect?

I’ll let ya know in April, lol. In-laws are visiting then and each have a golf club set they travel with. 😑 The other car in the garage is a Beetle convertible and ain’t no clubs fitting in that beyond even pushing it to 4 passengers…
the current tiguan is quite a bit different than the last body style. it is only 9" longer than the taos. the internal configuration is quite a bit different as they tried to cram a 3rd row in there. ive read the 2nd row is smaller than taos.

i doubt much golfing will fit in taos rear
The best idea is to always bring the golf bags to the dealer and try. They will welcome it.

I remember when the 2 seat convertibles from Porsche, BMW, Audi and MB were always marketed as being able to hold golf bags. I don’t know that the Taos target market is golfers, but if a Z3, SLK or Boxter can hold them, I would hope a Taos can.

A Tiguan absolutely can. We fit all kinds of things in the Tiguan cargo area of our 3-row 2021 AWD. The 2022 Tiguan AWDs don’t offer a 3rd row so the cargo area is bigger and flatter.
I have to pull my driver out of my bag and set it on top to have it lay left to right. Similar fit to when I had a mk7 GTI. I have a fairly large Sun Mountain cart bag and I’d say a second bag would fit behind with the long clubs pulled out.

How did the golf bag(s) fit in the Taos when your in-laws visited?
