No glovebox light (even on the SEL), no mirror turning lights, clown's horn, "8 speaker BeatsAudio" with 2 missing speakers. Lots of cost-cutting but still a great carSo, the Taos SE lacks a glovebox light? Wow, awesome cost-cutting by VW. Saved what, like $5.00?

The passenger window switch isn't illuminated either. No glovebox light (even on the SEL), no mirror turning lights, clown's horn, "8 speaker BeatsAudio" with 2 missing speakers. Lots of cost-cutting but still a great car.
My drivers door window switches, the front two window switches aren't illuminated. I suspect a faulty part. The passenger window switch isn't illuminated either.
They're definitely illuminated on mine. Faulty switch, wiring, or connection I would think. My drivers door window switches, the front two window switches aren't illuminated. I suspect a faulty part.
Wondering if that's the case, or if it's normal
My driver window switch automatically puts the windows back down about 20% of the time when trying to do an auto close. The build quality and feel of the switch is worse than a Kia.They're definitely illuminated on mine. Faulty switch, wiring, or connection I would think.
Sounds like the pinch protection kicking in.My driver window switch automatically puts the windows back down about 20% of the time when trying to do an auto close. The build quality and feel of the switch is worse than a Kia.
Power On the vehicle.Sounds like the pinch protection kicking in.
There's a procedure for resetting the auto up/down stuff in the manual somewhere. Worth trying that.
Might be as simple as running the window fully open then fully closing again manually (first step of the switch) and holding the switch for a few seconds extra each time. I think that used to be the way to do it anyway.
It has though 2 precut holes, at the top, maybe for future upgraded modelsSo, the Taos SE lacks a glovebox light? Wow, awesome cost-cutting by VW. Saved what, like $5.00?

I adore my '23 Taos SEL, I give it an A-, I would give it an A+ if:The cost cutting is everywhere on current VWs - thank you Dieselgate
Still a great car on road trips but I do wish memory seats were an option like on the Atlas, Jetta and Tiguan. Plus everything else mentioned above.
