Just dropped mine again for the "coolant level low" issue and called VW care. A car that is not a year old has been at the shop for more than 6 times for the same issue. Each time they did the same exact thing lol Just dropped it off again with the same issue🤦6 times in less than a year for a brand new car.. called customer care. This time they are going to replace head gasket and I will have a loaner for coue weeks as the part is in backorder. Honestly I will not get another VW again after my lease ends. Extremely unreliable.
Same here .. I will never go for VW again. I am utterly disappointed with the dealer as well. it's just 3 months now after the last coolant coolant failure pop up though. Keep monitoring and hopefully, no issues with head gasket. Thinking of emailing to the VW direct. Such a poor reliability for that price.

Suspect the engine coolant is leaking. purchased Taos 2022 high line on 31dec2021(Canada) and I had this 'Engine coolant level low warning light is on dashboard. VW service tech filled up the coolant on July2022. But again on 7sep2022, coolant level low light showed up. next day, drove into service centre and found coolant level is low. Filled up the coolant and I am going to drop off the car at VW service tomorrow for diagnosis. Suspect the engine coolant leakage issue.

Does anyone have this issue? Please share.
14000 KM into my Taos, i am not a happy customer. I got one recall and visited service centre three times. started to worry about reliability.

regards,
Nas

Hey everyone, I just found out this hour that my taos head gasket blew as well. The part is on back order and they will be supplying me with a rental until then at no cost. I wanted to ask what is the current wait time for people getting their taos fixed?

I wonder how the gasket went
Was coolant low to start with?
When I bought the car I did the inspection and the coolant was at proper level, I did an inspection again after the 15000km service and it was fine. I'm not sure what caused it to blow, they know that the gasket blew on the outer wall, meaning that the coolant hasn't leaked into the engine or so it seems right now. They won't know until the part gets in, at which point they will disassemble the engine and inspect it. The thing is part could take 3 weeks or 6 months before it arrives. This is now a know issue for the taos and vw is wondering if the gasket is getting damaged during installation or during its production. The odd thing is the newer base level jetta's have the same engine and so far I haven't heard of an issues form them. I'm wondering if this is only affecting the 4 motion Tao's.

I have 2022 Tiguan my coolant light came on about 2 months ago and the dealer said the coolant hose was leaking at near clips so now I'm in my car and engine light is on I'm going to dealer now. I was afraid this was going to become an engine issue. I'm going to ask about lemon law in Florida or try to sell it I don't trust vw now the car isn't even year old imagine what it will cost me once warranty expires if I'm having issues already

my 2022 taos at 15,346 miles alarm for coolant came on. i was rushing for work so i didn’t get to look under the hood at 6am. i didn’t drive so i thought sitting would be fine till i got home. when i came home from work, i looked under my hood the coolant reservoir was really low, and it rained so i didn’t think i’d be able to see a leak. well i saw a huge spot under the coolant reservoir and could see it dripping from the car. when i looked under the hood you could see the leak but couldn’t tell where it was coming from. i took it to the dealership overnight and finally got a call yesterday that they have no idea when my car will be fixed , just that the found the leak. when i went to get my courtesy vehicle , i asked if it was more than coolant. all i have for answers is it’s my engine , that they had to get in touch with tech assistance and it’s been back and forth with sending pictures to them. basically, they can’t fix the engine until vw tells them how to proceed is what i gathered. anyone else have this issue with a coolant leak being an engine issue!?! i haven’t even had it for a year yet.

Just came back from being 15 days away from home, started my Taos and same thing "low coolant level". I opened the deposit and there was coolant but level was low. I filled the coolant and we'll see from there.

I have been topping off my coolant. Had to dig out the pentafrost from two VW's ago and top off. Went in for oil change and came out with a head gasket on back order. To make it worse, my brakes are almost metal on metal. Those will be replace under a 2 year 24K mile warranty from VW. Of course with the same pads that failed. Not sure why head gaskets are on backorder. They must have a chip in them.

That sucks!
Was it just the rear pads or front as well?
My fronts were fine but rears very worn. I just ponied up $30 for decent ceramic pads in the rear, much better in regards to brake dust and stop just as well as the OEM pads.

Just Rear pads. Getting them taken care of tomorrow at the dealership. I figure that I will put on ceramic pads in about 15K miles if I still have the car at that point. Had two Jettas before this that I absolutely loved. Not sure I want a rebuilt engine on a new car.

Suck to hear this. I'm glad i leased my Toas from VW for only 39mos so I can do a lease return in a couple years. I have the brand new stock wheels/tires in the garage so they will be fresh at that time. And I'm no where near my mileage limit. I'm thinking I'll be able to sell it, and profit a few grand at the time. The residual on my SE 4-Motion is only $16,800.

Head gasket. Balls!!
I got a 22 , 4 matic.
The low anti freeze can cause premature failure on the gasket.
Too much heat caused aluminum to do funky shit. Good luck!
When ever I get a warning lite, that becomes a PRIORITY!!
Everything else is on hold till it's fixed.
