Same here. Im only at 11,000 miles and it low coolant warning comes up every other day. I got it checked, pressure tested at 10k service, they said it happens. Then a month later it showed up again. This time, they said it was too hot outside which is why it used a lot..This month I got it filled for 3 times..waiting for the next light by Monday... They definitely don't know what's going on. I owned many VW in the last 20 years, never had this issue happening multiple times in one month.. actually I don't even remember getting this error ever...

I will inquire as to what tests they did on mine and pass along the info.

I have a 2022 Taos, it’s currently In The shop at my dealer and it has proven to be a blown head gasket. They tried to tell me all the excuses I’ve read above, but pressure tested it and found the leak. Coolant doesn’t just disappear, it’s a sealed, pressurized system and should not lose volume. Short of finding coolant on your driveway, it will likely be the head gasket.

Still at the dealer, they have ordered a new head gasket, but they may have to replace the entire engine due to internal damage. Once the head gasket gets in, hopefully next week, they will pull it all apart and re-asses. I’ll keep Y’all posted.

I just took mine in today. They are going to tear down the engine in mine and go from there.

Suspect the engine coolant is leaking. purchased Taos 2022 high line on 31dec2021(Canada) and I had this 'Engine coolant level low warning light is on dashboard. VW service tech filled up the coolant on July2022. But again on 7sep2022, coolant level low light showed up. next day, drove into service centre and found coolant level is low. Filled up the coolant and I am going to drop off the car at VW service tomorrow for diagnosis. Suspect the engine coolant leakage issue.

Does anyone have this issue? Please share.
14000 KM into my Taos, i am not a happy customer. I got one recall and visited service centre three times. started to worry about reliability.

ok thanks for your reply. service center has requested for overnight diagnosis for my issue as they can't figure out the reason on my last appointment. I am gonna drop off the car next week and lets see how it goes.

Update to my situation.
On 27Sep2022, dropped off vehicle for overnight testing as per service centre requested. Findings and work performed by the service centre as shown below.

CUSTOMER REPORTS COOLANT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. THEY HAVE TO TOP UP COOLANT EVERY MONTH. CUSTOMER TOPPED UP COOLANT LAST WEEK. PLEASE CHECK AND ADVISE.

Finding;-
CONFIRMED CUSTOMER CONCERN - NO FAULTS FOUND - PRESSURE TESTED - NO LEAKS FOUND - CUSTOMER TO MONITOR

Work performed:-
14165 coolant light keeps coming on
Hooked up to charger and performed a gff scan of the vehicle, no faults stored for the cooling system, raised the vehicle and checked for leaks, no leaks found. pressure tested the cooling system for 25mins and checked for leaks, no leaks were found at this time. Recommend having the customer leave the vehicle with us over night so
we can check the vehicle when it is completely cold.
Once the vehicle came back and sat over night. Pressure tested the cooling system for 50mins and inspected for leaks, still no coolant leak was found. Pressure never, dropped and the coolant level is ok. The Vehicle is ok at this time. ****

Conclusion: They could not duplicate any faults and find any defects. Also, they asked me to pay 249.62 CAD/- in total, even though it's brand new car (less than a year). I had to send an email to GM of Abbortsford VW and they replied saying that they could make one time exception to waive off this bill as a one time good will gesture. (good will gesture, seriously??? this is supposed to free of charge repair, right?)

Honestly speaking, I am so disappointed about Volkswagen experience. Does anyone have similar issue that they are trying charge for repair for new car ? I understand they can't find any fault during diagnosis but i dont think it's owner's fault and this vehicle is under product warranty less than a year old. I am planning to write into VW asking about this.

Same issue. I am dropping it off tomorrow for them to run a test and check for leaks.. I don't think it's a leak as they did check for the leaks less then 2 months ago and since then I got the coolant filled up 4 times.It looks like an issue with the system as the engine doesn't stay cold or hot. Warning does disappear and come back frequently. Did anyone find the actual reason or the solution for this?

Hi! Came to this forum before I took in my Taos looking for answers. I took my Taos to VW last week and they say the coolant has been leaking into my oil. They are currently estimating my fix for about 3 weeks, so I have a loaner Tiguan. My coolant level light came on one morning, off by the evening, but back on the next morning so I took it in. Hope this helps!

same here i've got it in november 21 and the light show off two time first they put in june and again in october. now they are checking for their a leak but they keep telling me that is normal to fill up the tank 🤔

Same issue purchased in June 21, has been brought to the dealer twice for low coolant they found no leaks and could offer no explanation on my second visit they claimed to have put in a tech call with VW. My coolant light came on today and there is less then a third of coolant, I have 42,000 miles. Clearly this isn’t an isolated issue. I am going to show this forum to the dealer.

I am also having this problem 😭 I have not had my car in 3 weeks because of a coolant leak and now the part is on backorder! The rental I have is barely safe to drive and I’m very upset considering I bought a new car.

I am over mileage for a lemon law to apply, I feel your frustrations. VW doesn’t have great warranties I am afraid to keep the car

Just dropped mine again for the "coolant level low" issue and called VW care. A car that is not a year old has been at the shop for more than 6 times for the same issue. Each time they did the same exact thing lol

Just dropped it off again with the same issue🤦6 times in less than a year for a brand new car.. called customer care. This time they are going to replace head gasket and I will have a loaner for coue weeks as the part is in backorder. Honestly I will not get another VW again after my lease ends. Extremely unreliable.

Sorry for the delay, I just now have an update. Got my car back yesterday… new head gasket. They pressure tested it before and after with significant improvement. I’ll keep you all posted if I have the same issue. VW knows this is a problem, and that’s directly from the dealer principle.

Car would not accelerate between 40-60km/h. No throttle response, took it into the dealer and they just bowed their heads and admitted defeat! This is also a known issue. They have now bought the car back from us, and we will not be back. Toyota, here we come!

I open the hood and the coolant level below minimum almost completely empty. Here in Ottawa we have freezing temperatures for the past few weeks.

im waiting for a tow truck to get the car back to the dealer. I don’t want todrive it just in case they want to blame me that I cause damage.
Im disappointed with what I read in this thread!

The engine gasket needs to be replaced.

I am not sure what to do with the car.

Is the warranty cover replacement car?
