I cannot find the vehicle code sticker on the car and I really do not want to tear apart the rear compartment, does anyone know where it is and how I can get to it without completely dismantling the car? Thanks

I haven't looked yet but normal places are drivers door jamb or under hood. it wouldn't be in a place that requires removing panels. note that the "same" color has about 5 paint codes to account for mfg variances. I found this online last week and I need to match up mine

Thanks The Platinum Gray Metallic LD7X was the same color as my 2003 New Beetle convertible w/ manual top - I traded that car for my dear departed 2014 Black Tiguan may it rest in Peace!

remember, you can't pick any one from the list. although they all represent the 'same' color, they won't match if your car is a different paint code in the same color. that is usually because of the different mfg locations and effect that has on how paint goes on.

I already ordered an LD7X pen on ebay, it should be close enough for touch-up, Thanks - BTW I have tons of clear coat pens if anyone needs one no charge.

The "build sticker" should be inside the warranty booklet, with the owner manual.

If it is not there, VW's practice is to put a second build sticker in the spare tire well at the back of the vehicle.

The dealer did not put the copy (if there is one) in my owners manual, I guess they do not do that anymore, they do not stamp them either like they used to. I took everything out of the cargo area - the tool thing and the spare tire and found nothing. Just tried to call VW and it was an hour long wait, so I hung up. I will continue my search for the elusive build sticker....Thanks

Dealer just called me he gave me paint code D7X

Dealer just called me back, he called VW. apparently they do not put these stickers in the cars anymore. He sent me an 11 page document with all the codes and descriptions, O and the paint code is LD7X it's awesome!

One of the codes is 1EB "without identification plate" maybe it's a money saving measure

0N4 4-link rear suspension. this comes on the AWD versions
1E7 Activated Carbon canister ORVR, for intensified evaporation system, siphoning device for fueling
1A7 Fuel system for fuel-injected engine (tropicalized)
0A2 4 doors Duh!
1X1 Four wheel drive. shouldn't that be 4X4?
9M0 Without electric auxiliary heater/ fuel -fired parking heater
9ZX Bluetooth technology with audio streaming for compatible devices
7Q0 Without navigation device

Same problem here, cannot find the color code of my 2023 Taos in cornflower blue. Have you tried to call the dealer already?
