My wife and I picked up our Cornflower blue all 4 SEL on Saturday. The fix had been installed that week.

We were all ready to buy it (we had a deposit down) when they changed the offer / discount we had gotten via Costco car buying service of $2000.. This despite us being assured it would be honored, no matter how long it took to get the fix. So they said the new Discount was only 1500.
We were about to walk when the sales manager came in and offered to up the trade in on our old Mini by $500 to make up the difference.
Ok we were good with that. Then the 1+hr experience with finance. They say VW only offers 3.99%... I counter with Navy Fed credit rate of 2.19 for 60 months.. She then tells me the 'Costco discount ' is only if I finance through VW (which i saw no notice of via Costco Buying or the offer sheet we received from them 1 month ago. So I'm ready to walk again and they say wait and Ill see what they can do. They run our credit and come back with an offer from Wells Fargo for 2.6 on a loan (60 or 72 months no difference).
Ok that's so little actual money difference (esp since I plan to pay it off in 3 yrs) that we are go.
Now on to the add on's
Extended Warrantee (defiantly yes with al the electronics)
Ceramic paint coating and interior protection (yea we have dogs so the interior takes beating)
They offer prepaid service plans (maybe)
Tire and Wheel road hazard protection plans (yea)
And many others we did not want.

So after ~3.5 hours (the coatings take ~ 1 hour) we finally are able to drive home.

Now the first drive evaluation:

Sunday we head out with my wife and the dogs in the Taos and me in my 06 30ft RV for a 200 mike highway drive to her sisters house..

She loves the Taos. Easy and comfortable to drive. Very good start to low speed pickup, good not great mid to high speed pickup.
The lane departure features are good and very smooth compared to my parents 2019 Hyundai.
The adaptive Cruise control takes some getting used to and you can change the settings a bit. (She kept dropping from 70+ to 55 when someone changed into her lane.

He favorite feature so far: The seats are not just ventilated but they have a cooling system.
The dogs favorite feature so far: Rear AC vents

The Taos got 35.7 MPG avg on 400 miles of Highway driving @65-75 MPH in Normal mode.

I drove home and found it to be very easy to drive.. it almost drove itself.
I did play with lane departure (allowing it to keep me in my lane when we were on mild curves).
I did not have to touch the brake or the gas for 150 miles till we finally hit some heavier traffic.. and even then it was minimal.

Overall a good first run.

I'm happy so far but I do wonder:
Why no built in homelink/ Garage door opener? I guess they want me to buy the $300 mirror replacement..
The roof console LOOKS like it has a spot for sunglass holder.. but its just an outline not really an holder.

Why no power rear liftgate.. or maybe a pulldown strap as my 5ft tall wife can barley reach the handle to close it.

That's my experience,
Your mileage may vary.

Wanted to know if you ordered the Taos?

Would you be kind to share the name of your dealer as I'm open to working with a Dealer who has the Costco offer (none in my area). :-(
Understand they played games and that is a little concerning.

My wife and I just walked in to Lindsay VW in Sterling, Va to see the Taos as we were looking for a new vehicle and it fit our needs.
They had the 4motion (we wanted all wheel drive) and I wanted every possible feature.. The Cornflower blue one was the color my wife wanted ( Yea, i know cliché). And the SEL had the features I wanted.

We contacted Costco Auto Program │ Car buying made easy │ New vehicles & more! and the local dealer was listed under my choices.
That dealer then called me (took about 5 minutes after i filled out the questions on the web page.
The actual offer did not come till i met with the dealer.

Thank you! You and your wife have good taste! Your post gave me hope!

Just went to the Costco and filled out the form. They provided a dealer.

Thank you again!
