Maybe that valve has something to do with it? Or the cruise control won’t engage due to a CEL.
Personally I don’t use cruise control even on the highway, so I would wait.

Mmmm yeah maybe. Guess I’ll wait. What is a CEL?Maybe that valve has something to do with it? Or the cruise control won’t engage due to a CEL.

Check Engine LightMmmm yeah maybe. Guess I’ll wait. What is a CEL?
Oh, 🙄, LOL!Check Engine Light
Her CEL might be different than mine although it sounds like it's the same fuel venting part. My cruise control always worked fine throughout FWIW.I do know that when my engine was overheating and there were engine warnings it turned disabled all assistance features, including cruise control. Is your CEL still on? I think one reason it won't allow for cruise control with the CEL on is that it doesn't want the car damaging itself—since the engine isn't behaving as expected, it's up to the driver to safely operate it.
But my CEL went out after the dealer checked and ordered the part and never came back on, so maybe that had something to do with it, but while my CEL was lit the cruise always worked fine. Her CEL might be different than mine although it sounds like it's the same fuel venting part. I was told the N80 was something to do with the fuel venting part. So initially the the check engine light while the CEL first out the cruise control was working and then a week later it stopped working. Of course the check engine light has remained out during this time. So I don’t know if it’s a fuse or something with a switch or something else. Anyway it’s strange. So it’s no big deal but of course I want everything on a new car that I got 4 weeks ago to work. But my CEL went out after the dealer checked and ordered the part and never came back on, so maybe that had something to do with it, but while my CEL was lit the cruise always worked fine.
Thanks so much. I’ve been waiting for that valve for three weeks now. No telling how long it will take to get here. It’s not coming from Germany but from Mexico. I guess they are having trouble with having enough employees everywhere.Im sorry to hear you are having issues with your car, I hope your valve comes in soon so they can look at it.
Hi, it’s not a dumb question. No, I’m not turning on the cruise control. How do I do that? I thought I just press ‘set’ to set the speed.Karen, according to the online owners manual you should be getting this message if the CCS is malfunctioning:

This may seem like a dumb question but are you switching the Cruise Control system on before you try to use it?
On the same little panel as the "set" button there is another one with an icon of speedometer and "I/O" (on/off) indicator that turns the system on and off.Hi, it’s not a dumb question. No, I’m not turning on the cruise control. How do I do that? I thought I just press ‘set’ to set the speed.
We’ll I am dumb!!! Anyway I didn’t turn it on folks so yes it does work. 🤪 thank you everyone for all your help for the stupid 65 year old who has to read the book with a magnifying glass!!!Also your odometer reading will be replaced with a gray symbol at first and then a green one with the set speed indicated.
Haha! I'm with you on the magnifying glass. One of the worst things about getting old. We’ll I am dumb!!! Anyway I didn’t turn it on folks so yes it does work. 🤪 thank you everyone for all your help for the stupid 65 year old who has to read the book with a magnifying glass!!!
Thanks for that. I’ll be sure to put the online manual to use since I definitely need the magnifying glass for the paper manual. LOL 😂Haha! I'm with you on the magnifying glass. One of the worst things about getting old.
If you haven't already seen it, the online version of the manual is great. Much easier to read. Just enter your VIN.
