cross members and basket.

Good afternoon,

we purchased our taos back in 2021 and we've loved it so far. the check engine light has turned on/off a couple of times and im going to schedule an appointment to check it out... but the reason for this thread is that im looking for a non expensive -less expensive alternative to add a basket(travel) including the cross members without breaking the bank. VW wants 400 for the cross members and 500 for the roof rack which i think its excessive. anyone gone the aftermarket route successfully? what would you recommend?
