there was one discussion a while ago that somebody was putting in a particular model. might search for that thread.

(There haven't been "chips" for a car since the 90's, now its a programmer)

Word is that there are developers working on them, I would guess the usual (APR, etc). There is one that is apparently a module that tricks the sensors but I would be wary of that.

I'd like to chip mine but I think I will wait for gas prices to calm down, too. Going to need 91 or higher for sure and regular is like $4.50 a gallon here.

APR is making 87 Octane versions of their software for VWs with 87 Octane engines. So if they make the Taos tuning software, it will have an 87 option. It loses about 5% power vs the Premium fuel version, but I doubt it’s a deal breaker.

Oh that is nice, buying another turbo car in this gas crisis would have been completely off the table but it looks like every manufacturer has figured out 87 octane turbo mapping. I thought the Nissan I3 turbo made peak HP with 93 but worked with 87 as well but apparently it's rated 201 hp at 87 octane.
