I have a SEL AWD model. What all have your been able to customize with carista?
Can you make the lightbar across the grill be on with the day time running lights?
I know others have talked about changing the drive mode to direct rather than timed.
Can you get more ambient light choices?
Customize with the key to open/close windows and sunroof?
When checking compatibility on the carista site it shows some customizable options available but i would LOVE to know what anyone else has changed. I have an iOS device to I assumed the carista adapter would be best, is there a better one for customizing that is also compatible with iOS. Thanks!!

I read about you could use Obdeleven to change the lightbar and get more colors to ambient light. Didn’t tried because don’t have Obdeleven.
Used Carista in Beta Version.
It had many other options than regular version.
I could Customize with the keyfob and remote controller to open/close windows and sunroof

Interesting, I bought the obdeleven and it won't even connect with the Taos. It only displays lots of errors while connecting to the modules. It will scan for faults but the rest of it doesn't work (Adaptations, Live Data, Basic Settings, etc). I am trying to work this out with obdeleven support but to be honest it is a pain to work with them. At this moment I would suggest to stay away from obdeleven if you plan to use it with the Taos. For the Taos it seems that Carista is the way to go.

My Carista should be delivered this weekend so I’ll be able to play with it. I did see the listed features on the site under Taos, just really curious what all anyone else changes aside from the timed to direct for driving settings. I’ve seen that you can unlock the ambient lighting where the SEL only has 10 options but you can unlock the 30 options like other vehicles have. Purely cosmetic that one. I’m curious if the light bar across the grill which is only on at night with lights set to auto can be made to be on with the other day time running light. I didn’t know you needed to have the hood open. Wondering if the carista won’t be able to do all I would like customization wise. Thanks!

My Carista should be delivered this weekend so I’ll be able to play with it. I did see the listed features on the site under Taos, just really curious what all anyone else changes aside from the timed to direct for driving settings. I’ve seen that you can unlock the ambient lighting where the SEL only has 10 options but you can unlock the 30 options like other vehicles have. Purely cosmetic that one. I’m curious if the light bar across the grill which is only on at night with lights set to auto can be made to be on with the other day time running light. I didn’t know you needed to have the hood open. Wondering if the carista won’t be able to do all I would like customization wise. Thanks!

I don’t know why, but when you do the modifications in Carista after pop the hood, more options are available. I saw this tip in another Taos forum and worked.
plug in Carista, pop the hood and ignition on (doesn’t need to turn the engine). Only after this connect to Carista and open modifications options.
I advise to use Beta App there are many more options than regular one.

Beta version can be tested freely, but only the beta modifications, others require a subscription.
there are monthly, 3 months and 1 year options.
I believe there still is an option for Pro features for a month without subscription

That's correct. You only need to subscribe when you want to modify settings.

No luck using Carista for upgrading the standard 10 ambient lighting choices on the SEL model to the 30 ambient lighting choices. I know it’s possible with the OBD 11 as people have used it on other VW. OBD 11 compatibility with the Taos seems to still be in the works. Small customization on the scale of what all you can do with Carista, just wish this was one of them. *even using the beta version. Was able to play with different styles for the digital cockpit

Unfortunately Carista doesn’t do that kind of modification.
As far as I know, it will only be possible by VCDS or long coding, which is only available at Obdeleven in long coding option.
Carista is still working in make available to 8’ display users change their dashboard colors. Which isn’t possible to this Taos version.
This function in Carista is working to change dashboard colors but there isn’t a menu for that in multimedia display.

Set the passenger mirror to auto-down when I put the car in reverse. It did NOT remember the position prior to reverse, so I had to re-set the mirror after. Annoying, going to undo that. It says it does a lot, but my experience after last night, is most everything I'd want, the car already does and the things that I want it to do, can't be done.

I feel that. The only things I adjusted is the theme of the digital cockpit, from timed to direct for the transmission setting, and lastly having breaklights on with the DRL. The other things I wish to customize is not yet availed. But carista said they are working on those

I get errors trying to do things like needle sweep but was able to enable the pulsating start button. Not sure when that happens? When opening door?

Edit: so I got more features to work on two VWs but the reverse mirror tilt doesn’t. On the Tiguan it does nothing. On the Jetta SEL it works but instead of tilting down it tilts up left. You can set it, even try tosave it in seat memory, but next time it still goes up left. Without storing the setting why enable it?

But I love having the windows still work after opening the door on exit. And fan level indicator on AC Auto, and

I'll add it to this thread too.
Carista disables it by setting the minimum battery voltage for auto start/stop to work to an unfeasibly high value. It also changes the ambient temperature range within which it will function.
So it's pretty much never going to engage.
One advantage of the B2BFAB harness is that the system is still usable - it just reverses the function so the default is off. If you press the start/stop disable button it turns it back on.
