Do you guys have a slit on the left and the right wall of the cargo area more towards the trunk hatch? I got my car 2 days ago and it came with two slits cut on the wall. Exact same spot both side and same size. Just wanted to know what it was for. Thanks yall.

It's probably for access to the hardware holding the taillights in. Removing the taillight assembly is necessary on most later VWs to change a bulb, but since these are LED, hopefully never need to do that.

Oh i mean still in the trunk area like right behind the rear wheel area. Im trying to find out why its there, not sure if this is tailight related

Maybe there’s a female thread behind it and there are attachment eyes that go through for some kind of cargo net or something?

I had to search to find these two little slices and eventually did. Very strange. My initial thought on reading your post was potentially there to release air while attaching the liner. After finding it and feeling area my theory now doesn’t seem plausible.

Yeah its weird. I have zero issues with it but just want to find out what it actually is you know?
Im taking my car to the dealer in a week due to their staff drilling holes for plates when the front plate holder was already installed, so ill ask the service manager but i have a feeling they may not know as well.
