Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. While the app was still car-net and now that it’s changed to my VW, I am still having issues with utilizing all the features in the app. I have my iphone wirelessly connected to my car via CarPlay. Because of this, it tells me that my phone is not connected via Bluetooth when i have tried to remote start my car via the my VW app. You can only use Bluetooth or wireless CarPlay. Am I missing a work around to getting this to work correctly?

I believe that's just the way the connectivity works. My 2019 Tiguan behaved the same way.

As a side note, I find it irritating that when connected via Bluetooth with my iPhone that I receive no text message alerts... it just quietly vibrates the phone with no alert. My old Android phone did alert when Bluetooth connected. Just a peeve of mine with the iPhone since the Tiguan was the same way.

I know when I picked up my Taos the Salesman walked out with me to the car and said before you touch anything give me your iPhone. Then we got in and he sat on Pass Side and said let me do this because if its not set up correctly it will never work correctly and everyone sets it up wrong. Have no clue what he did but it took no time, once paired it worked like a charm. I got all my text messages on screen and the car reads it to me and i vocally reply to my text, Phone Book, Music, Google Maps, it's all there and working fine .

I can say the few times I did start the car from the iPhone App and got in it does say phone not connected, I shut it and restart and all is well. To be honest now I only start it from the FOB

Everything is correctly synced, no issues there. The only thing that does not work is trying to remote start the car from the my Volkswagen app. I have a theory that if I turn off wireless CarPlay so that I’m only connected to the car via Bluetooth that the remote start through the app will work. I’m going to try that
