Tried several sets of instructions online with no luck. Then read I needed the Homelink IOS app and got that. It will not let me pair via Bluetooth. Says the Bluetooth network is not on, but yet I am connected to my watch and the VQ via Bluetooth when getting that message.

JUST want to add a garage door opener. Anyone have success and can give me the steps to take?

thanks.

I recently did mine, all through the HomeLink app on phone and my current garage door opener as well as the mirror buttons. The HomeLink app walked me through every single step as it is a good bit of timed pressing on mirror and the garage door opener. I was using an iPhone. Have you paired your phone to the vehicle through Bluetooth prior to this? If you’re using the wireless CarPlay it should all be connected through Bluetooth

I have paired the iPhone to the CAR. But it will NOT pair to the mirror. Says Bluetooth network not found and Bluetooth is not on. It is.
Are using the instructions you get when you’ve set up a HomeLink account? It walks you through setting up Bluetooth through the HomeLink app. There are specific steps on the mirror and in your phone that it walks you through

There might be a workaround to not use the app, but using the app took literally two minutes to set up. You have three buttons on the mirror in addition to the one Bluetooth button. They can be programmed for garage door openers, lights, and more. The app is probably required due to the fact that there is so many different customizable options. It’s compatible with smart home and all the other smart features.

Jim. I am MORE than computer literate. Been online since 1986. Managed medical software. IPhone since day one. I appreciate the help and glad it worked for you.

The app does not work for me. Will not connect via Bluetooth nor allow me to program any button for the garage door opener. I KNOW what it is SUPPOSED to do, but it fails every time. :)

Does not say I need an account to pair via Bluetooth. Will not pair via Bluetooth. Icon blinking on the mirror. Nothing discovered under Bluetooth in iPhone settings. Pressing continue on app says Bluetooth is not active. Retry. Rinse, repeat :)

Turn off Bluetooth. Wait. Back on. Same thing.

Not working....

I would say your next option would be to take it to the dealership and see if they can do it but in order to program the garage door you have to be within the vicinity to program it. I do think that the only option to program it is through the Home link app though. Which I can see the inconvenience there. Maybe see if someone else in your household can set up A Homelink account to do the basic programming, once it’s programmed you don’t need the app unless you’re going to program something else.
