Backing up

Does anyone's taos alert them (audible) when they are backing up and getting close to something. My comfortline doesn't alert me when backing up, only when there is cross traffic. Wasn't sure if that's normal.

Yes, mine does, and quite loudly. Might be worth checking the settings for the assist systems.
the SEL does. there are alert tone settings for each type and volume that can be set on mine.
I think only the top trim includes backup sensors for distance. Lower trims include the camera and rear cross traffic but not distance sensors.

You should see Sensors on the rear bumper if you have that option. I believe it’s SEL only
I have the SEL and I wish it had sensors in the front! Coming from a Prius it is a bit hard to maneuver when parking.

I find it far easier to park than the Jetta, when I drove a 19. I can't explain why but they are just unwieldy and feel weirdly long and it felt like I never knew where the sides and back of the car was. The Taos is much, much better in that regard.

I have this in my S with IQ drive. I have no audile alerts or any alerts while reversing. proximity or cross path. I get nothing.

Tested this yesterday Cross path is functioning. The S does not have the backup proximity sensors.
But does the car brake automatically?
I had my wife drive by in the van and didn't want to try and see if it would apply the break.
I’ve had it brake automatically when reversing. It’s a grating feeling rather than the normal smooth application of pressure. The approaching truck was surprisingly far away at the time. It was a BIG truck!

O yes I know the feeling of us that happen in my jeep. I was backing out of a very steep driveway and it kept auto breaking. It’s a little shocking when it first happens.

I have an SE. Could youbplease tell me where to find that setting?

Thanks,
Eli

Same, I had a 19 Jetta and backing into a parking space in the Taos is much easier.
Does the 2023 Taos SE beep when you're backing up and get close to something? I was just doing that and it looked like I was close on the camera. Do you know if there's a setting somewhere?
