I cannot get the phone to connect with android auto wirelessly. It charges wirelessly, I unpaired the Bluetooth, re-paired it. I do have the app to connect on wireless but it only connects via a cable. Any ideas? I have a pixel 6 and everything is up to date

It may help if you remove your device from the app, and then add it again. I had to do this to get the app to work again for autostart.

Did you connect it with a cable the first time? If so, going into the settings in Android Auto and choosing "more settings on your phone screen" or something like that will reveal an additional menu where you should be able to see whether wireless android auto is enabled or disabled.

I have this same issue with a GALAXY S20. i've tried every tip and nothing works. It also deleted all my contacts from the main screen where you can save favorites. It tells me to reimport but it won't work. If I ho to Phone through the app, all contacts and favorites are there. I'm so fristrated, Im talking it to the dealer next week.

I am also having this issue with a Pixel 5a. I have followed every troubleshooting step recommended. My dealer was entirely unhelpful in dealing with the issue. Would love to know If anyone finds any tricks to getting it to work.

I got mine working a few weeks ago, I played around with a bunch of different settings and got it to work. Hopefully it doesn't lose that because I have no idea what I did. It was a combination of the phone and infotainment system

Huh, okay. I've spent a good amount of time messing around. I guess I'll try some more. Good to know it's not impossible at least.

Finally got wireless Android working!

Turned out I needed to enable the hotspot under Menu > Settings > Wifi
Deleted the bluetooth pairing from the phone and deleted the phone from the car. Basically starting over.
I manually connected my Galaxy S21 to the hotspot and then did the bluetooth pairing and the one-time cable connection for AA. Now it connects wirelessly without a problem.

Just did the same & it works. It even didn't ask me to connect via USB first - AA started right after Bluetooth pairing. Thank you for sharing this!

Is this menu/settings/wifi in your phone or car?
