Has anyone received the coolwalk update for Android auto yet? Curious to see what the layout is for the SE screen. I tried downloading the latest APK but it didn't show up.

You have to be "switched on" by google. It is an account thing. Try to sign up for the AA beta in the play store, I heard there were more spaces available but that was a day ago.

It is unremarkable, I have had it for the past few weeks on the S radio(smaller and lower resolution) and it is ok. Right now you MUST use GMaps to get the split screen, Waze does not work yet with the new view. It is nice to have the current playing song name visible SOMEWHERE on the dashboard because it doesn't send it to the instrument panel. It feels a little faster to drag the map and stuff like that. The keyboard isn't QUITE as slow as before.

On the wife's Sentra with the bigger, higher resolution screen, it looks very nice, same overall "....eh" to it though. It boggles my mind that they can't make it faster. I have a Samsung S21, it shouldn't take an eternity to type an address.


Honestly, this was hyped to the moon and back and everyone made it seem like it was going to be groundbreaking technology and it was delivered as rounded corners and a slightly new view with less overall lag.

I'm not going to say it isn't worth it, it is... it's just a letdown for the hype. Like how was this teased for a year about "coming soon" and then it was two months past the release date of "end of summer" for something that is basically a reskin. To add to that, the original screenshots from forever ago don't seem to reflect any major changes that would have caused such a delay. Just google sucking like usual.
