I spoke with a VW salesman today and they said the 2023 models will be arriving on lots as early as August in Canada.

VW staggers when the year changes. Different factories and assembly lines switch over at different times.
I speculate that this is done to keep factories going all year, vs the Detroit model of shutting down factories and “laying off” workers who then collect unemployment before going back to work.
