So I read a ton of reviews, watched videos, and took a few test drives and decided to buy a used 2022 Taos SE however now as I am waiting to pick the car up I see the iihs review where the safety ratings are a bit lower and the headlights get a mediocre review

wanted to check with actual owners, are the headlights ok? I didn’t opt for IQ drive and high beam assist, was that a mistake?

all the reviews said it is a great family car so I just figured it would be safe and most test drives were during the day

thanks

My opinion on the headlights on my '22 Taos SE is that the low beams are better than the lows on my wife's 2018 Honda CR-V but the high beams are better on the CR-V than the Taos. That said, the high beams are entirely adequate on the Taos, just that the CR-V highs are above average. Surprisingly, the high and low beams on my Acura TSX were both better than the comparable ones on the Taos.

Thanks I am trading a Cadillac ATS with the halogens for it and those are basically like having to old pen light flash lights taped to the front of the car so hoping this is better

Also does the CRV have parking sensors? Never thought to check and kinda bummed the SE doesn’t have them

No experience with SE headlights but my SEL (IQ) ones are excellent. They swivel left/right and self adjust up/down. They are definitely better than my now sold 2012 Tiguan HIDs which also had swiveling headlights, and better than my Tacoma's LED. Auto high beam is a gimmick, it doesn't do a good job on any of the cars I had/have it on.
