Has anyone successfully returned or traded in your Taos since this stop sale happened last week? What are your dealerships saying? What usually happens in situations where a new model is stopped once plenty have already been sold? Thanks in advance!
Are they willing to buy it back? What are they saying? I have a SE 4motion, is yours all wheel drive too?My car has been in the shop 2x with epc light and shutting off randomly I am talking to Volkswagen for buyback I have a model s I think it’s affecting all models
Media & VW saying just the AWD Taos. But I would be wary of any Taos now. *This is a Major Safety Issue -- & it will, of course, throw lots of shade on the Taos name -- all of them.My car has been in the shop 2x with epc light and shutting off randomly I am talking to Volkswagen for buyback I have a model s I think it’s affecting all models
First of all… we have been in VW’s for a LONG time now… but, recently switched from our Tiguan to a Taos FWD SEL… and have encountered the same issue. Luckily, we were not in major traffic at the time, and were able to restart quickly… but, our new Taos is in the shop, and we’re in a loaner… 🤷♂️I have the FWD SEL and it has shut off on me 2x now. Also having issues with the radar on the safety features so they are trying to address that first. In a loaner.
Sorry to see you go, but as long as your car has been in the shop, I don't blame you.Volkswagen is going to proceed with my buyback. I dont think I will buy another volkswagen.
They refuse to allow me to return it bc I drove it off the lot. so I have to now file a lemon law ans contact a lawyer. I am not keeping my Taos at the shop up to 6 months for a oxygen sensor part. And make 6 mo of payment and oay 45/day fir a call rental bc I bought a new car :/Has anyone successfully returned or traded in your Taos since this stop sale happened last week? What did they tell you. How long before you get your car back. Is the loaner at least comparable?First of all… we have been in VW’s for a LONG time now… but, recently switched from our Tiguan to a Taos FWD SEL… and have encountered the same issue. They wont give me a loaner. I called 4 dealers too. And up to 6 months I’d have to keep the car on their lot. 2 mo to even look at and up to 4/6 mo for the part of its just the sensor. I can’t oay on the car for 6 months and oay for my own loaner for that long tooWhat did they tell you. How long before you get your car back. Is the loaner at least comparable?
Your lucky they told me o amVolkswagen is going to proceed with my buyback. I dont think I will buy another volkswagen.
That's total crap. Absolutely classic Lemon Law material, even if they gave you a loaner. Months? They wont give me a loaner. I called 4 dealers too. Definitely call VW America! I got mine in July and Initially when I got the car my dad instantly saw the leak from the car sitting in the driveway. Took it in and ended up getting the engine taken apart and replaced! That was 3 weeks after purchasing. Then when I got it back the car started stalling and shutting off at red lights and stop signs. Alerting me to manually restart the car all while it was in drive. Then it got worse and shut down multiple times while the car was actually moving. The scary thing is the shut down isnt quick, it turns off and starts slowing down and the brakes nor gas works. I sent it back to service ASAP and told themI didn’t want it anymore. Currently working with VW who is now working on a buyback offer within the Lemon Law. And yes they have a loaner each time they kept the car. VW is offering to pay off the car, cut a check for all lease payments I’ve made and the down payment and incentive pay to to purchase another VW/Audi. But idk about that, I’m a bit weary nowThat's total crap. Absolutely classic Lemon Law material, even if they gave you a loaner. Months?
Have you called VW corporate? I bet you could find a sleazy lawyer who could help you Lemon Law it if that's what you wanted.
I'm in the process of trying that right now... initial stages, I'm in Canada. Not holding my breath though! I've owned my Taos for 50 days and it's been in the shop for the last 30 days.Has anyone successfully returned or traded in your Taos since this stop sale happened last week? Do you have an update for your situation? My FWD SEL model failed the recall and has been in the shop. I was lucky they had a loaner on the lot, but it is not equivalent to my car. I am supposed to hear back from a regional manager at VW of America today and would love to have some idea of what to expect. I am hesitant of another Taos, but have enjoyed the Tiguan or am open to an Audi! (I didn't even think of the Audi option - your post was very helpful!)Definitely call VW America! I got mine at the end of July, and the dealer took it back Aug 19 due to the engine cutoff issue. They've had it ever since. I've asked VW Canada about an extension for the warranty and prepaid service package, but they declined my request. Not a good way to start off with a new purchase.I'm in the process of trying that right now... initial stages, I'm in Canada. Not holding my breath though! I submitted a claim for a buyback of my Taos that has been at the dealership longer than it has been in my possession as a result of the fuel line recall. My claim was denied. So I am now making payments for a car that I do not have. I was also told that a loaner or rental “is not covered by this recall” so I am also incurring the cost of alternate transportation.Has anyone successfully returned or traded in your Taos since this stop sale happened last week?
