Hello, I've had a new 2022 Taos for a few weeks now. I finally got Android auto working, but even though Bluetooth is paired and I can read texts on the infotainment system, I do not receive any notifications of new messages. I've unpaired/repaired the phone several times. In the setting on the infotainment the box for new message notifications is checked. My phone is a Pixel 5a. Android version is current.
Any suggestions?

not all applications are able to pass through the use into the 'auto' functionality. if you use an alternate app for messages for example, vs the normal google message app. also, there are settings on the phone if you enter the settings on the car you can then transfer to settings on the phone. it will say 'continue on phone screen for settings' or similar. its hard to pin down an answer in general terms. newer versions of android also remove permissions after a set time period. you can disable that access proection.

Thanks for the suggestions. My 2016 GMC Terrain seemed to have a much more user friendly infotainment system. This Taos infotainment system leaves a lot to be desired. I also have the bug where it is stuck at "initializing" sometimes. Hoping for a system update.

it has bugs.. we see the initializing sometimes also. we just reset it when it does that. the different vendor designs may be better or worse but its limited by the auto interface of droid and ios. in earlier systems, they leveraged a custom interface to phones and didn't use the newer auto interface. the new terrain might not be as good as your older one

Go into the Android auto app on your phone and make sure the notifications settings are enabled
