The airbag light just came on and does not go out, anyone else have this issue? I'll schedule an appointment with the shop.

Yeah, that needs some more diagnostics at the dealer. VW had issues many years ago with the steering wheel clockspring that caused airbag errors, though I think that was sorted out. Could be something similar. Easy dealer fix if that is the case.
Mine came on a few weeks ago but i can't be inconvenienced with dealing with it. What am i supposed to do get someone to drive me 30 minutes to dealership, leave car, get ride home, get stuck with no car for god knows how long. Maybe next winter when i can afford to be stuck home a few days but no way i can be inconvenienced this time of year
Have the same light on. dealer is a hour and a half away. I am going to plug up my scan tool just to see what it might be this weekend.

Well the code was for a sensor issue for the drivers side side impact bag. Reset the code and it did not return so I am assuming a ghost in the machine. All is good again.
Wow that's great news for you (y)

I have an old code reader / reset tool Im going to go out right now and see if that reads and or resets mine, (but its an old one so who knows) ?
My old scan tool (OBDII Engine) would not have done anything. This VW/Audi specific one I got from ebay can scan all the systems and the reason I got it , retract the rear calipers. Well worth the $38 best offer I payed for it.
Ya just tried mine, it says NO CODES but my guess is its not VW compatible. Ill look for a VW specific scanner and buy one myself, Thanks
Dam i act too quick I already ordered one, LOL.... Its a different Model. It does clearly list 2022 Taos and it seems to do everything so hopefully it'll do the trick

I hope that does the Airbag codes. The one I got specifically for the rear brakes but it lists airbags, and everything else that might fault out.
Thanks for the heads up Pzookey, i asked them if the item i ordered does Airbags and it didnt so I cancelled the order

Worked out good Pzookey, Thanks Again for your help
Got home yesterday after sitting in A LOT of traffic and the Ancel VD500 was in my mailbox, I literally plugged it in immediately got the code and cleared it. So far its still off and i did drive it a half hour or so today.

No problem Rob
My code was for the drivers side but the same exact thing. It has been a a week and a half of daily with a trip to Atlanta with no return.
Thats good to hear, i just found this and its interesting... Although its for an older Passat two things stick out at me,
*It says the code does NOT affect the Airbag operation (which is nice to know)
*everything seems to point to a sensor in the door not properly sitting, or wiring problem (corrosion) at the sensor or in the wiring in the A Pillar

On a car thats a year old there is absolutely no way there should be a corrosion issue on the wiring or connections, if there is I'll dump this thing because that is totally unacceptable.
My guess is the sensor in the door is either not sitting where it belongs or maybe they didnt plug it in all the way. I actually had that happen to my Brand New Mitsi Outlander Sport a few years back. The day after i brought it home BRAND NEW it lost all use of back windows, when I picked it up they told me the harness connection fell out in the door (no you mean someone didnt connect it correctly, LOL)
