So my daughters 2022 is in the shop for transmission issues... It is shifting hard, downshifting hard, not shifting.... At times it feels like a new manual driver jerking down the road. Anxious to see what they say about it. It's been a very bad shifting transmission since day one but has gotten progressively worse. Any other owners having issues like this?

Have you had the ECU, Transmission, and 24IR software updates done yet? These are common problems all rectified by the update. There are 3 software updates.
yes, it actually made it all worse... It is back in today for the same issue. Last visit they claimed the couldn't replicate it. I got it in it to go home and before getting out of the parking lot it was jerking yet again. I absolutely am disgusted with this car. We have a 2023 Audi A5 Convertible, same company that should share secrets with VW and how to build quality would be a good thing.

I have the 2022 se awd and have not had any issues with the transmission. The dual clutch
Transmission is a different feel than what your use probably use to. Push the little button on the round knob on your center console. On your dash
Radio display screen it will bring driving modes.
Select eco mode. I find this makes the taos shift
More like what your use to. I do find that normal mode seems to get me the best gas mileage.
Computer is controlling shifting for gas milage.
The gas pedals are little touchy on these taos
But you get use to it after driving for awhile.
Hope this helps

Of course you went on a text drive with the Service Manager so they could experience what you experienced, correct?

I did but they said all of it was normal…. Dropped the tech off and drove to the Toyota dealer and traded it in for a 4Runner! Problem solved!
Same here! Thinking of trading my Taos (8 spd.) in for a Toyota and it only has 2,600 on it. Have only owned it for about 4 months. Family’s second VW in 20 years and probably our last if they can’t fix the horrible squeaking my Taos is making. Very sure if is drivetrain related. Took it in once and they claimed there was no noise. Have another appointment next week. My FIRST NEW car also!!!

The OP is long gone if they actually even had a Taos and traded it in, ours has a DC AWD and is a littler jerkier than previous cars with a torque converter but not that bad, and I can’t see switching to a Japanese car and liking it more - all the ones I’ve been in are reliable but so boring
