Here are the color choices available for the Taos sold in the Mexican market.
Note: Due to the US being a much larger market, more color options or variations may be offered. In the meantime, here is what the VW Pueblo factory will supply for the Mexican market. It is a good indication of what is to come.

***** Profundo (Deep Black) - Pearlescent
50

Gris Platino (Platinum Grey) - Metallic
51

Gris Puro (Pure Grey) - Metallic
53

Rojo Rey (King Red) - Metallic (No longer available. Replaced with Intense Red Metallic - May 11, 2021).
52

Azul Cornflower (Cornflower Blue) - Solid
54

Blanco Puro (Pure White) - Solid
55

2021-May-11 Update:
Mid-year change: Kings Red Metallic was replaced with Intense Red Metallic. It seems that Kings Red Metallic is no longer available for the Mexican market. While in the US/Canada, Kings Red Metallic paint is available for an extra cost.

Maybe Kings Red - the image above really doesn't do it justice.
I agree. It looks better on video. Here is a video posted on YouTube by a Mexican VW dealer with a VW Taos in Kings Red. The video was taken inside the dealership at night. It would have been nice to see it in an outdoor setting. I searched YouTube and this is the only Red Taos I found. There is an abundance of Cornflower Blue and White Taos videos.

Thanks, that's good to see. Yes, outdoors in daylight would be better. if you take a look at the early VW press videos for the Golf 8 GTI, that's where they introduced Kings Red, and seemed to try to make it a 'signature' color for the new car. Here's one:

Thanks for sharing this video of the Kings Red Golf 8 GTI. There are a few angles that show the metallic quality of this paint finish. But, I find that in most scenes, Kings Red reminds me of the VW/Audi factory favorite Tornado Red which is a solid color. I need to see it in person to appreciate it more.

Yeah, when I first saw the press photos/video, I assumed it must Tornado red since it's a GTI, and that the camera or lighting, etc. had just made it look different.

Looks like these are now hitting the showrooms in Central and South America, as there are a ton of YT videos now with production cars at the dealers. Here's a Kings red Taos in daylight, but still indoors

The interior looks fairly low rent in this trim level, but i think a Kings Red in US-spec SEL trim might like kind of good...

Thanks for sharing this YT video. BTW, the Taos in the video is a Trendline which is the base model. The interior is definitely a much lower quality but the textured trims are quite interesting. It also has the lower quality digital gauge cluster as opposed to the Digital Cockpit found in the top trim Highline. After scanning through this video clip (I must have watched several dozens of Mexican and Argentinian Taos videos from both journalists and dealerships), I still find it difficult to appreciate this color. The metallic qualities just don't come out too well with a low quality phone camera.

I know it’s late to this thread, but the US added a new dark Blue (Dusk Blue) and the disappointing Pyrite Silver (just bring back Reflex already!)

King Red and Pure Gray are extra cost colors, and those and Cornflower are not available on S trim.

On the SE, Black cloth/leatherette interior is available with all exterior colors, while the gray interior is only inside 4 colors.

The interior colors (brown/black and gray/black) are split between the exterior colors on the SEL, with an illogical pairing in pyrite.

Because of the pairings, we are leaning toward Cornflower Blue as the Dusk Blue only comes with the dark interior color options.
